U.S. Intelligence: Iran Possesses Trillions Of Potentially Dangerous Atoms
November 12, 2007 | Issue 43?46

WASHINGTON?Barely two months after U.N. inspectors in Iran failed to find evidence of an active nuclear weapons program, the Department of Homeland Security uncovered new information Monday proving the Middle Eastern nation has obtained literally trillions of atoms?the same particles sometimes used to make atomic bombs?for unknown purposes.

Remainder at link provided.

Satire or prophecy?

Call Paul Revere and Rudy Giuliani. Trillions of atoms! Do you know how many atoms a trillion is? Round numbers, thats 3,333 atoms for every man woman and child in the entire USA. Now do you know how much a trillion atoms weighs? As I recall from high school chemistry, in CGS units, Avagodro's number is 6.0238 x 10 to the 23'rd. And a trillion is a mere 10 to the 12'th. Which means its going to take 100 billion such trillion atom masses to weigh less than a tenth of a pound of fissionable material if we are talking about fissionable material here. And even then, its going to take many many such 100 billion trillion sized masses to make JUST ONE BOMB assuming we are talking highly refined and pure fissionable material in the form of plutonium or U235.

Wake me up when Iran gets to 100 trillion, I will be sleeping in my 1950's era bomb shelter meanwhile. The previous owners died of radon gas exposure they got from all those concrete blocks and I got the bomb shelter dirt cheap.

Oh snap, should I be testing for radon? Levels were ok a year ago when we bought, but I live between and above hundreds of these blocks. And some have cracks. What hellish gases release from their chasms?!
