Iran prepared to unleash oil weapon

Grr, stupid middle east politics. I'm getting really sick and tired of this crap. When will the stupid idiots all sit down and negotiate peace? Do they have to nuke each other first?!?

Edit: Yesterday the college my wife goes to they had a support Israel rally in front of the campus center. Had candles lit around the fountain and people talking about dead in Israel. Kind of touched a nerve in me that all these people are dying because some stubbon idiot leaders won't sit down and negotiate peace.
 
How many times has America put embargos on other countries it wasn't happy with? Lets not have double standards.

It's called Sarcasm . Now if you would kindly pull that stick out of your ass or at least stop complaining about it tickling your fancy maybe the rest of us can enjoy ourselves here with out you acting like a puckered up sphincter.
 
That's like me bashing my head against your house to take it down. Some of these middle east countries rely on oil exports for 2/3 of their government spending. Lets say it got ridiculous and a lot of them cut back the oil - though places like S.Arabia and Kuwait have said they won't do that - and our prices go up who is going to hurt more? We still get oil from Russia and other places.

I roomed with a guy from Kuwait for a semester in college a couple of years ago. Believe me, Al Qeada has nothing to do with it.
 
skoorb, we only get 13% of our oil from the middle east but thats not the point. Its a global economy. If japan, who gets 60% of their oil from the middle east, runs into a shortage because of this, they will go to our south american suppliers. They will say hey, you are selling to americans at $35/barrell, we will pay $40/barrel for it.

Doesnt matter how much we directly get from them, if they successfully use oil as a weapon it hurts everyone, even the US, and even if we only get 13% of our oil from them.

Well in actual fact other countries like Russia would step up production to fill the void. Sure prices would go up, but still - countries like Iran and Iraq simply cannot operate without the income they get from selling oil for long at all - they can survive less time than we can with our reserves and alternate sources.
 
We COULD almost negate our reliance on foreign oil by drilling up what we have oursleves, but we are too good and kind to do that....arent we?

Yeah it was. Now if you are a Iranian sympathizer or someone who doesn't shower a lot I can undertand your anxiety over the fact that some fun was made at the expense of America's enemies, Namely the dickhead Mullahs who are hoping to hurt us economically with the only thing they have that is worth a sh!t.

It's nice to know not all the Arabs cannot count. I wonder how long it would take for the Irani's to realise that by cutting off oil exports all they were doing was draining their cash reserves. I mean, if they had any other export to get hard currency on the global market, it would work, but anyhoo.

I'm just waiting for the statement from big oil that they have to double gas prices because of this.
