Iran gives me hope

I think there is hope. Many of the young in Iran, from what I have read, are ready to throw off the yoke of Islamic extremism and take a more open approach to life. Hopefully we will tread cautiously and give them a chance to do it.

Who said education was something that was hated in that region of the world?

Although personally I find the wearing the scarf 1/2 assed to be extremely hippocritical. If you wear it, do it properly. And some things I find ridiculous~ wearing "too biright colors" is unislamic? Lol! Although you are not supposed to do anything to harm your body, so i can undersatnd where the stance against smoking comes into play (although I would find a person to be very stupid if they smoked to be like an "American")

Iran will turn over on its own and become more moderate for sure...but I find it ironic it gives forth the idea that being technologically advanced, and having ipods and junk like that is "unislamic"

When the US attacks IRan? Would be very wrong for us to do so. Though I think that even though they will moderate as time moves on, they won't be as "pro west" as we hope because in the end they will look to their best interests (As they should)
 
I feel sorry for the Iranian people. They are actually friendly towards us, but their bs govt isn't.
 
The Ayatollah Khomeni was suceeded by very corrupt individuals. However, his life is something I want to emulate. Even after attaining power, he lived in a 1 bedroom apartment.

U.S is going to attack Iran. Iran's regime is not going to collapse. At least not in the next 10-20 years. Iran's economy is 1/3 more than it was in 1999 and is growing at 6-7% a year. Unemployment was at 40% in 1999 and it is 19% currently. The people who don't have jobs are young students which number in the millions.

How many riots/protest have you seen in the last few years? Now compare that to the number you saw in 1999-2001.

no Iranian wants their country to be attacked. The people of Iraq wanted their country to be attacked because they had no pride. Why should they have pride? They were living under a dictatorship who brutalized 60% of the pop.. Afghans were living under brutal conditions. The majority of Iranians do not like the regime, but they want to fix it themselves. It is their problem.

The only Iranians who say attack Iran are the Iranians who live outside Iran who cannot speak for Iranians because they do not live there. They just want to go back to their country and have no idea what goes on in Iran. I'm one of them. I don't live there so who cares? My voice means nothing.

The US will NOT attack Iran, not anytime in the foreseeable future. We don't have the money, the people, nor (and thank God) the support.

We would see REPUBLICANS protesting an invasion of Iraq. I being one of them. Bush has zero reasons to go into Iran. There were 16+ UN resolutions against Iraq, we had support of NATO, we had other countries support in invading Iraq (emphasizing "some").

The US invasion of Iran is in your head, it aint going to happen.
 
We won't attack Iran. We don't need to.

1. It will soon be isolated between two democracies.
2. They have a large pro-west population. Iran could be where the great Muslim renaissance and protestant reformation occurs. Standing in the way of that would set the world back 200 years.
 
it also appears to be where the M/e indrustial revolution is occurring. The only country in the region making real any economic progress.

The only way anyone is going to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons is if they bomb the hell out of them for a month and send in troops.

An attack on Iran would mean Iran attacking U.S forces in the region and Iran attacking Israel.

Iran attacking U.S forces/Israel will get the support of every Republician/Democrat needed to bring the U.S into war with Iran. That way the U.S could blame Iran for attacking them when it was really the U.S who attacked Iran first. However, nobody cares that we attacked Iran. People care if Iran attacks us.

We are already attacking Iran. We are surrounding them with Democracy and showing the people there what freedoms they could have if they just made it so. Rise up Iran and free yourself.
