IR Blaster Problems with Vista Home Premium

I have a Hauppauge PVR250 sp? in a board with Vista Home Premium but can't find the original IR for it. I installed Vista and then purchased a MCE compatible remote kit from NE and it controls the MC menu just fine. It clearly sees it so it's clearly working, but when I go to set up my video input it says IR Blaster not found and won't let me go any further.

I searched this forum for a similar problem and found others who have the blaster for the Hauppauge card but not the MCE andMC wouldn't see it either so I don't think buying an IR Blaster for the tuner card is the answer. Maybe, maybe not.

To recap: The HTPC responds to my MCE remote until I get to the input setup. Then it says it can't find it. I don't have my original blaster for the Happauge and I'm not sure finding or buying one will solve the problem.

Can someone among the many in here who have encountered this nice little MS feature and resolved it please tell me what you did? This is driving me nutz!!

Thanks.
