IQ POLL

I've never seen one of these, but if it's a repost I apologize in advance. I searched.

Ok, now don't lie.
It's anonymous, so lying only drives the average up, and gives your real IQ less weight.

What if we are too inept to understand how to work a programmed boolean switch with out gyroscope thing-a-amgiggy wit te cat and such?

Did I win?

Categorically Yes.

Where does one get tested? I've seen the websites that supposedly tell you your IQ, but the poll says Tested Officially which I have not been.

Perhaps add a Mensa poll as well? Admission can be based on one of many of the available intelligence quotient tests (Stanford Binet, WAIS, etc).

Yea I'm not sure how you get tested, I was tested a few times through school.
A real test needs to be administered personally IIRC.
The online ones can give you an idea, but I don't think anyone takes them seriously IQ wise.

Some of the biggest idiots I've ever known had sky high IQs.

Last time I was tested in was in the 140s.

Yup, I'm assuming not too many people are below 100 because we are on a tech forum.
I'm just looking for a breakdown of the above average IQ's.

I usually test in the 150's-160's with the web tests. So I'm guessing 140's realistically.

I think the test is pretty unfair because it's skewed towards math/science type people with number patterns and logic, etc. Math and science are my gifts. My brother is creative and musically talented. He's picked up the guitar and drums without ever taking a lesson and is pretty good at both (great drummer .. pretty good guitar player). I'm, by far, "smarter" than my brother, but I can't do the things he does musically.

130-140 on real tests, so I voted that. I've gotten as high as 180 on those bogus online tests.

ps - Check your local bookstore for some mensa-approved tests if you don't want to shell out 3 digits for a professionally administered one.

that's exactly why those tests aren't reliable... plus the time factor isn't taken into consideration.
whenever I'd get tested there were different tests for rational/creative IQs. My creative is way higher than my rational, but taking the online tests you never see that material come up.

Yes exactly.... IQ tests don't tell you jack sh!t...

Some states gave IQ tests in kindergarten during the 80's. Indiana was one. You can go to the central office in the school district you attended that year and request your records to find out what the state IQ test scored for you back then.

The online tests are completely bogus.

average is not the same thing as median.

guess we know which category you'll be in.

Bah. As a teacher of math and science I do exceptionally well on those tests. The rest of you are inferior. You aren't even close to as smart as math/science people. All of you non-science/non-math people should simply be subjected to a life of serving those of us who are. Quit trying to rationalize that "ohhh, the test isn't fair because it had questions with right/wrong answers on it and no questions such as philosphy questions that allowed for a large range of correct answers. 🙂 😛

(Note: for those of you with such a low IQ that you don't realize the 😛 means I'm kidding, let me spell it out for you: j-u-s-t- -j-o-k-i-n-g!!)
