Ok is there any way of transfering the songs from one ipod to another. I dont have them on the computer. Only on the ipod. Also the set ipod to disk mode then copy no thats not happening it copies alot of the song alright but there is a lot that the names will not show up correctly anymore and are only 4letters long after that so thats out of the question. Only thing I thought of is use freeware to copy the songs back to hdd then put on new ipod. Thats not really going to happen though I have 10000 songs that will take along time since you have to do it one by one.

Well I don't know if you can transfer iPod to iPod, but you can use this software:

http://www.ephpod.com/

It pulls everything from you iPod to your hard drive at once, you can then easily transfer it back.

10,000 songs really shouldn't take THAT long over USB 2.

I used a program called YamiPod to recover all my music off my ipod when I reformatted my system. Doesn't take too long really.

Once you load the music into a player (iTunes, Media Player, WinAmp?) those 4 letter names will disappear, and the actual names will show up.
