Ipod!!

Black avatar and no free ipods link? Ban

Since you asked about IPods: I would probably say the shuffle or nano.

In the non-Ipod sector: any brand's flash based device.

Nano. Small flash based, perhaps more durable than the hdd based players. Cheaper too, and holds plenty of music for even the longest of workouts.

Just wait for the new iPod nano's. They are supposed to be using aluminum or magnesium shells instead of the material that is currently used.

do you know when the next generation will be coming out?

I just don't understand all the hype surrounding the IPOD. It'a an MP3 player...with a whole lot of limitations as far as what can and can't load onto it.

My three year old Rio Cali player (1GB of storage w/an SD card) plays MP3's of any bit rate, displays full titles (in black and white, no color...like it makes a diff in the sound) and is virtually indestructible.

IPODs suck ass. They are just a fad. Nothing more then a media player with a HD instead of flash memory.

BTW: I have an elastic/velcro armband that I use while running and working out. It works perfectly. No fiddly Ipod velcro-simulated-pleather cases to worry about. You kids and your fads. Bah.

You didn't find the armbands buged ya when you were running? I know a few friends who said they got rashes from them.

Whenever I see a link to mac rumors I think of the anti-apple ad:

Not that I'm a mac hater or anything.

i dont have an ipod, but i would definitely buy one if i had the $$$.

lets see if your rio cali player can play videos. then lets see it hold 60gb of music.

and in case you thought all ipods were HD based 'fads,' there is something called the ipod shuffle.

/thread.

I would say that the biggest reason that iPod is so popular is because the iTunes software is really great. Especially when it comes to organizing and synchronizing. Other than that I love the look and size of my Nano.

I'd say the Shuffle is the best for working out. It's tiny, great battery life, simple.

After that it'd be the nano, especially if you run a lot and want to get the Nike/nano sport kit.

New iPods this fall.

I'd say whichever one you got for free.

You didnt get one for free yet?!?!! check out this website!!! its not a scam:

I too have a Rio Cali (2GB total) MP3 player that I use at the gym. Who wants to pay $400 for a 60gb video/music player to take to the gym that would probably break if dropped? I certainly don't.

And you are simply don't need that amount of music for a two hour training i gym... Best thing, of course - to have two players, flash and HD.
