I am thinking about getting the 20GB Refurbished Ipod from apple.com for $300. This is a second generation ipod right? Does it have an audio out port, so i can plug it into a car sterio, etc.. And on the this ipod can you make playlists while listening to music (listen to a song, and then click to add it to your playlist), or do you have to make playlists on the computer and put them on the ipod?

Yes.

Yes. I use mine in the car all the time - it's great. 🙂

You have to make playlists on the computer beforehand. The 3rd gen iPod have a feature so you can make a playlist on the go but I don't think you can save them for the duration - so you can't make a lot of playlists on the go, just one at a time. I could be wrong - check out the iPod web site. I really haven't looked up a lot about the 3rd gen iPod seeing as I already own one and have no intentions of 'upgrading' (to an iPod with a shorter battery life by 2 hrs 😉).

I dont think you can make on the fly playlists with the "old" one either. There is prolly a firmware update for that though.

Does it have an audio out port? what kind of question is that? how would you listen to anything if it didnt?

god! thats really dumb. if i cant make playlists on the ipod then im definately not getting an ipod. i guess ill wait untill the 3rd gen. ones go down in price.

Meh...not a big deal to me, I would just use my ipod (when I get it of course) just as a huge jukebox, I could care less about the playlists. All my ID3's are correct (meaning they dont display something they arent, and with out all the track #'s and all that shiz). I'd just search for the song, or skip to one I like.

No playlists = no big deal
