I recently snyced my Ipod with my first PC. Now when I connect it to another PC, which does not have the same data as my first, quicktime wants to snyc it again with the 2nd PC, which will erase everything I have in the Ipod.

My question is, Can I transfer my Ipod files from my Ipod to my 2nd PC? If so how do I do it?

Download Winamp. It doesn't need to link the iPod to one PC like iTunes does, so it will detect the iPod and allow you to transfer the music from it.

Oh I didnt know that, so you can in fact use winamp to transfer files in and out from the Ipod?

Yup, I use it exclusively with my Shuffle. Only reason to load up iTunes is for firmware updates and stuff like that. :)

There is a setting in iTunes called Manually Manage Music. You can transfer songs into your iPod but not out. Or you could look on wikipedia for programs that replace iTunes so you can do both upload and download into your ipod.

In the sidebar on the left it should show up under portables when plugged in. You can then right click on a song (or obviously all songs) and select copy to local media.

I'm not sure where it copies them to on the computer, but they should show up on Winamp's local media library and then you can hunt down what folder it sent them to. Right click then view file info should show you where the file is on your hard disk.

Ah, i see it now, the problem was that I was using winamp classic view.
Now that I've switched it back to modern it works fine! Thanks alot.
