ok im making my recovery back to the gym...

i have an old 20 gig mp3 player that I use daily, but I could stand for an upgrade I guess. I have personal xvid's that I ripped and what not, would I have to downscale them to smaller dimensions or do anything to the audio to ensure that they synch up. I used to have an Archs Gmini about 3 years ago that I had audio-synch-problems when playing video.....

anyway -- do any of you guys and gals use a Video/Mp3 player at the gym during cardio? (elliptical/precor)?

Thanks,

Honestly I don't know why you would bother with video while working out unless you spend a lot of time on a stairmaster.

Listen to music and pay attention with your eyes to what you are doing. :p

You can do the same with a lot of the wma based players as well...as for an ipod, you have to convert everything to certain profiles of mpeg4 or mpeg4 avc (h264) :(

I was there yesterday and couldn't agree more. All the machines have tvs and when the novelty wore off I turned the off...

nothing like some good music...

I used to use my mini but now I just listen to whatever the gym plays. I do believe music can "enhance" a workout, mostly lifting.

If you want videos, don't get the iPod. The iPod is great for music but screen is too darn small for video. Get an Archos if you want video.

My gym has TV's in front of all the Cardio Equipment tuned to ESPN or some Game/Race.
