Think of it as having the body reject a perfectly good organ (at least perfectly good to the common people). They sound like they should work together but in truth it is much more complicated than that.

Video; the Nano doesn't have anywhere near the storage capacity that I require.

You get used to it though. I basically have dozens of podcasts (usually longer than 1 hr each) and at least a few hundred songs with me....

Oh man, I'm using QT Pro to convert movie trailers to video ipod compatible format right now, and it's sooooo slow. Ok, my system sucks. Time to get an A64 X2 system.

I just saw the nano.. It is about the size of a credit card with all the functionality of the hard drive based ones. AMAZING. It is so much smaller than it looks in the advertisements.

That voids the warranty!

60GB is not really enough but it will do for now. :(

if you're going to be running and exercising and stuff, get the nano.

if you're going to be sitting on a train/bus/park bench or something, get the video

But with Playlists and such it all works out. Few People need to lsiten to 60GB+ of music between dockings

Well, we've got both in my family (I've got the 30BG video, my son has the 4GB nano).
I just upgraded from the 6BG Mini.

Both the Video and Nano are sweet.

If you want super small and light and don't care about video (and want/need to pay 50 bucks less), get the nano.

For me, I am really hooked on the video. It's not much bigger/heavier than my mini which I used mostly while jogging. Had trouble reading the mini to see what song was playing without my glasses while jogging, so the larger display of the videio will help.

Fooling around with the video is great fun. There are free video podcasts available at itunes along with music videos and tv shows for 2 bucks a piece. However, with the free videora ipod converter you can convert your DVD movies and other videos for use on your ipod (and PSP).

I'm having a lot of fun with my ipod video.

The nano.

All of you posting that the nano doesn't have enough storage, how much do you really need?
Yea, most of us have music collections that are nearing the TB or higher range, but who needs that much music on them at once?

I'm willing to bet 99.999% of the people who will post in this tread never see more than 24 hours without their computer.

The Nano is terrible.

It is at a terrible price considering you can get the Zen Micro Photo for the same amount (~$250) and the Zen offers 2x the storage at 8GB, a FM Tuner, voice recorder, and removable battery.

I also hate to say after owning the Nano and its big brother, the Nano gets terrible battery life in comparison.

Read CNET's artical "Nano Alternatives" and see for your self.

-------------

Personally, i'd get the Video, its only $50 more than the Zen/Nano.

Video support of course, way more storage. With the Nano, I found my self having to be selective when putting my songs onto it. This is somthing I didn't have to do with my other Ipod. I could just throw my entire collection on there and it was ready to go. This of course could vary person to person.
