thinking of the same. I'd like something w/ a larger screen to play videos. also, something to use on the metro that won't kill the battery of my Pre. And I'll soon need something at work for music. I'm waiting to see what the dell mini 5 will be like. If there's a non-phone/3G one, I will want that.

And no, I don't want an iPhone. I thought I wanted a combo media device/phone, but then I realized I don't want to talk into a giant rectangle.

yeh but you get a camera with video and you can unlock it. probably get an older model cheap too.

imo the killer on the ipod touch was poor speakers(useless), poor microphone(or lack), and lack of camera for instant video upload or photo upload.

i'd get another iphone before i got an ipod since quite honestly i just stream all the media over 3G/wifi/voip over wifi/3G.

without the 3G the iphone is still quite useful. the ipad/err ipod missing many essential features well is kinda sucky.

you could always tether your iphone to another 3G phone over wifi and pretty much do everything you could do with 3G?

i'd rather have an ole iphone 2.5G than an ipod touch in that respect.
