iPod Touch or PSP?

Hi guys,

As you can see, i have a pretty big dillema over here...

I have to choose between iPod Touch and PSP and i've never used either one before.

I know they both have wireless but can anyone please clearly state and prove which one is better?

I'd like to do a little gaming but i also want good sound quality and i know they both have WiFi internet. They're both big enoguh so size doesn't matter here

Well... basically, which one's best? (I'm considering hacking them since i've heard you can get extras but i don't want to discuss this here (PM if you have some info))

well...would you rather listen to music or play games? i'd choose the ipod because i dont care for games as much. although the PSP does play music, i'd rather have the smaller ipod (with more memory) in my pocket for music.

to be honest, i prefer music quality over playing power

but since i travel quite a lot, i get bored a lot :laugh: so i was wondering what gaming capabilities does the iPod Touch have. I couldn't find anything about gaming on Touch.
Memory... i don't know, 4GB are enough as far as i care but more doesn't hurt :laugh:

As far as being cool, both are high-end as far as i'm concerned. Besides, i'm afraid of getting the face of the Touch scratched, other than that, i really don't know which one to choose.

I'd go with the touch, from what I've heard it's got the best mobile browser around. If you're really into gaming the PSP might be better but I'm sure you can find something to play on the touch to keep you occupied.

if gaming were my first choice i would have gone with the PSP without a doubt... as for the touch, i've heard that it has a much wider choice of software AS IS (non-hacked, to be more exact)... but i want to know if homebrewed software works on iPod Touch.

You can hack the Touch with a Windows or Mac program (www.ziphone.org). Takes less than a minute and involves plugging it in and clicking a button. Once it's unlocked you can put any number of apps onto it - including a fair number of games. Most of the games are puzzle/strategy-type games - like Chess, Solitaire, Go, Minesweeper, etc. There's not very many arcade-like games - if those are your type of games, then a PSP is a much better choice. The unlocking hack installs an "installer" app and then you just choose which apps you want off of that.

That link and software is for the iPHONE, i'm getting the TOUCH, i don't have enough money for the gsm version sadly

Does it work for the Touch version too? or just for the iPhone...

I really would have liked some arcade games for this so if anyone could provide a link to some games, i'd be grateful.

So mostly, my mind is set on the the Apple Touch but if anyone can prove that PSP would be a better choice... please, be my guests.

It's for both.

And you don't really need a link because the installer gives you a list of nearly all of them when you run ZiPhone. Here's a list with most of them.

So... i guess Apple iPod Touch it is then... better browser, better music, better software! As far as i'm concerned, this seems to be the deal for me :laugh:

PS I'm getting this as a gift for being admitted at one of the best architecture universities in Romania, I think i deserve it
