Hey i just won an ipod touch, and was wondering anyone would reccommend a good in car unit to play my music through. FM transmition is a possibility but i kind of went through three of those with the best one being the Belkin cleartune, can anyone recommend any better of this or is there another way around this, i own a Saturn L300 04.
I was thinking maybe there would be RCA jack in the back of the factory stereo but i really dont want to have to go ripping things up if i dont have to.

Thanks

I have a Pioneer stereo with the iPod attachment going to my glove box.

Apparently Pioneer and Alpine make the best iPod capable car stereos. Mine only cost around 200, of course with installation and whatnot that grew but pretty cheap for a base stereo. Plus I've never looked back, I love the thing.

EDIT: It's really good if you have an old ipod. I just keep an older 20gig attached all the time so I never have to think about what music I have in the car. Plus it charges so I never have to worry about that either.

When I was researching these were the options:
FM transmitter - cheap, not very good quality
Aux port input using stereo inputs - mid-expensive, good quality, no control
Aux port input using iPod connection - fairly expensive, good quality, stereo controls

I didn't like the FM transmitter - I had to keep changing stations that it was set to because I was picking up local stations on that station setting. Also the quality was poor.

Then I bought a gizmo on Ebay that gave me a stereo in port and then tied into the AUX port of my Honda Civic radio. It cost me $60. This lets me take stereo out of my iPhone and then it's a wired input to the AUX input of my car stereo. I like it - the quality is good and it works great. Plus I can use it as a handsfree cell phone for calls and have the voice routed through the car speakers. This was a Honda specific thing - it's called a "HON-AUX" - but I presume they are available for other vehicles.

I currently use a pioneer with the AUX in port. Great quality but lack of controls. If this is going to be more or less a permanent fixture I would get a head unit, with interface that allows you to control the ipod from the head unit. Seeing as this is a touch though, it might be hard to find. I prefer my method as my ipod moves from car to car but I do have to control the ipod directly
