ipod skins: worth it?

Anyone here with an ipod that uses a skin or a case? Are the skins worth it? Like, do they hinder functionality in anyway.. or the best way to protect your new toy?

Right now I just am using my ipod (3rd gen) in my pocket

I have a couple of them only because there was a "2 for 1 eXo" going on over at iPodLounge.com. It doesn't hinder the operation of the unit, but some people have reported some problems with the eXo2 and maybe the eXo3 skins. Personally, I liked the fit of the case that came with the iPod but didn't like the fact that I had to remove it from the case everytime I wanted to browse or do something that I couldn't do with the remote. I know of some people who own pretty much every single colour of iSkin available, I'm not one of those.

I've got an iskin - wish i'd bought it sooner and not got the scratches 🙁 It doesn't stop me doing anything - you barely notice its there. Its only when I drop it in its dock that i have to peel up the bottom half of the skin, but thats no big deal./

What company makes the iskin? haven't really gone shopping for it.. but there is an ipod section at my school.. will check it out

I have iSkins for my 2nd gen iPod and I love it. Not only does it protect it, the rubber really grabs when you set it down. I like that when I'm in the car. I don't have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't slide off the seat. 🙂

The good iSkins are from http://www.iskin.com and http://lajo.biz. Those from your campus store are probably crappy ones (they don't fit well).

I use a DLO Action Jacket for my iPod. Can still use every function it has perfectly well.
I hear that the eXos are good.

The closest thing to a "skin" for the Zens are Vaja Cases.
