iPod says data corrupted...

I'm considering returning my iPod, however I'm not sure if apple will replace it if I tell them I'm getting an error that lists "Data corruption". I've reinstalled itunes and everything but to no avail. I have two iPods, (one from school and the other mine) and the computer will only recognize the one from school.

I got my iPod back in December, and I'm quite surprised this is happening already. Could this be a result of using two iPods on the same computer? Was I not supposed to do that???

My apple care protection plan cancels in February, FYI.

Suggestions will be appreciated,

Michael

Well, I don't see why trying to return it is a bad thing. The worst that can happen is they'll tell you 'no' but I've heard Apple's pretty decent to people who actually pay for the protection plans. But in the mean time, have you tried doing a firmware upgrade (or whatever it takes to just wipe it all out and start over with the same firmware version)?

As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with using two iPods on one machine. I've definitely used multiple ones on mine, but I don't think I've mixed them (it was one then the other).
