This may be the death of Ipod.

Ipod was/is successful because it does one thing really, really well. Nobody else has managed to match it (Rio Carbon close, but no cigar).

IMO specialization is a good thing in this case.

They need to focus on significantlly increasing the battery life on the Ipod product line. 6 hours for the Mini and 12 hours for the 4G is still terrible. The RIO Carbon 5gig can push over 20 hours for crying out loud.
