iPod people ..... HELP!!!!!

Couple questions...how long does it take for the ipod to charge up? Also i cant get mine to power up...do i have to charge it up first...or is it supposed to run when plugged in into firewire?
 
I just let it charge while plugged into the firewire.

Also, there was a bug with some early models that didn't let it charge all the way. Have you updated the firmware?
 
i jsut got it, i have no idea what firmware its got. I cant get it to power up at all,
not even with FW plugged in

Have you tried plugging it into the independent charger?

Also, you can do a reset by holding down the "menue" and "play" buttons down for about 6 seconds or so.
 
You have to have the iPod on the charger/dock, put it on hold for a few seconds, take it off, then hold down menu and play/pause.
Mine came out of the box 80% charged I'd say. To turn it on, hit play. If that doesn't work, put it on the charger and see if it starts charging. If it doesn't start charging, bring it back.
