iPod Owners!!

I've had an iPod for about 2 years and have never bought a single song from iTunes. (OTOH, my wife has probably spent quite a bit at Napster.) I received a $30 iTunes GC for X'mas, so I'll have to check it out now.

How about you?

I still like buying CDs so I can physically hold onto something. I only use iTMS for individual songs that I would never buy the whole album for.

I use the rockbox firmware so that eliminates the itunes option.

Also, I prefer high bitrate ogg-vorbis or FLAC to low bitrate AAC.

Only stuff I get from the ITMS is either free content or things I've redeemed through the various Pepsi code games or gift cards.

A little bit. As someone said, it's the easiest way to find a song you have stuck in your head. I mostly purchase my songs at vonyc.

Don't have an iPod or use iTunes.

Either way, I prefer to have CDs (of course, trying them out for a week or so before considering a purchase, unless I buy it at a show), even if I just use them to rip and then stow them away. I like having something physical.

I've bought some import stuff that would have cost me $30+ from amazon or any other store, but still was only $10 on itunes.

Just recently started purchasing from the iTunes store. I used to buy CD's only, but I've been getting lazy and picking up singles I like only. I don't have high-end audio equipment nor am I an audiophile, so as long as I can play it as loud as I want with no perceived quality drop, I'm fine with the low bitrate files.

No, the only things I have purchased from iTunes were two videos of Thom Yorke performing "Down is the New Up" and "Videotape" right when they were released.

I own a 60GB 5th gen ipod, and I have never bought anything off of iTunes. Nor do I ever plan to unless they seriously lower the price on music.

For video, I just buy dvds.

I buy CDs, so I can rip them to lossless FLAC for my music server PC. I've bought 0 songs from iTunes so far.

My iPod is just for when I'm on my lifecycle, and all of the songs are transcoded from FLAC to MP3 (thanks to dbPowerAmp) or re-ripped from CD to AAC (160 kbps is surprisingly good).
