iPod or Zune as Christmas gift?

I wanna know which would be the better choice for my girlfriend. She seems interested in that new pick iPod Nano but I wanted to see what you guys think for fun.

UPDATE: Bought her the pink 4GB nano and will buy myslef a white Zune tomorrow. 😛

iPod, they're easier to use, and IMO, the more I find out about the Zune, the more gimmicky it seems.
Planning on grabbing a new U2 iPod myself when I have the money to drop on one.

ipod is desirable sexy and easy to use. zune is interesting for a few tech geeks if that. not a great present, plus from what i've seen the zune is ugly.

buy her the ipod.
 
Probably the ipod if she is like most other young girls she will want the same thing as everybody else. Zune is brand new so there may be problems with the initial batch of hardware
 
How about waiting for the Zune to come out and get some first-hand reviews from real people before deciding?

meh, still not as good as a nano as a whole package. its better than sansas previous effort which was truely hideous. but its just not as desirable as a nano for most. i mean if u are stuck on having fm sansas for u.

plus the ipods accessory selection can't be touched.
 
It's impossible to give a good answer to that question until the Zune is actually out. Personally I'd get her anything thats not an iPod. The only reasons I see to get an iPod are if you think it's the cool thing to do, or you aren't intelligent enough to figure out how to use WMP.

I'd personally be asking "Zune vs Zen Vision M"

BTW Zen comes in pink.

my freind has the 2 or 1GB version (forget) and at first I thought it was really cool, but in 10min I was sick of it. The whole rigid plastic-feeling wheel thing is annoying.
