I'd get the Ipod.

If you want to be fun, get an inscription. I'd prefer if you got, "Everybody Wang Chung tonight"

It's really not about what's better.

What it's really about is what she will like better.

There's a tendency among techie types to assume that the most popular option is the worst, and there's something better. I fell for that and bought an iRiver H10. It was the crappiest electronic device I've ever used, and stopped working after a week. If you look on the web, you'll see that iRiver is notorious for low quality. There are other brands that are good, but their mp3 players are all bigger than the iPod, and their interfaces aren't nearly as good as the iPod wheel. I don't own an mp3 player, but if I were to buy one, it would definately be an iPod.. Everything else really does suck.

I've dropped my phone a few times, if I didn't immediately put my iPod in my pocket after turning it on or switching tracks I'm sure I would have dropped it as well. Being older doesn't make you any less clumsy, if anything people abuse things more around that age (I'm 21, I should know).

Probably for her going to have to get an ipod like it or not. Everyone refers to mp3 players as ipods, and some people think anything else is a knockoff even the the ipod wasn't the first mp3 player.

Ipod is the fashion statement, which is the bottom line with females. The zune is a Microsoft product, therefore only used by fuddy duddy middle aged and old men, as the Apple commercials clearly show.

No, but there are rumors of a Sirius add-on.
