Ipod or Nomad Zen

Thanks for the pocketdock link, that is exactly what I was looking for.

I am not sure I could live without gapless playback, I would only need it for album playback, I like the option of listening by album or by song when I am in a more eclectic mood which track joining would mess up. I think I may have to look into an ogg capable player as ogg seems to have this ability designed into the codec.

ipod has better warranty service than creative ( 1 yr vs 3 months), and the dell is just darn ugly. So spend the money and for 300 you could get a used 15gb ipod with about six months of warranty

That's your opinion, but I like the dell dj. My buddy has one and the thing rocks. Also, the Ipod looks too fragile. It looks like it could scratch very easily, but I guess that's what a protective covering is for. I'd go with the dell dj.

I believe the the Dell DJ doesn't have native windows support..ie...it doesn't show up as an external hard drive. That is what turned me off about it. Everything else about it actually does look pretty good 🙂

I love my i-Pod 30gb (3rd Gen). Itunes really helped when that was released. Simple to use, small, and great quality. I live in a Creative town, Stillwater, OK. Creative has support center here. So I have used and could have bought Zen for a great price through employee pricing. Still went with i-Pod.

I am not a Creative Labs employee, just have a few friends that offered to get a zen for me.

I used a students 1st gen ipod and loved it.

Go with the ipod.

zen is freakishly big compared. the ipods barely reaches the size where it becomes ultra portable. ipods have better interface to boot. whats size over convenience when your paying a couple hundred regardless. the competition doesn't touch the ipod in terms of size/weight/usability. just try to walk around with that zen in your pocket, you'll never forget its there.

iPod and iTunes is amazing. Not sure why I waited so long to get one. You won't be disappointed. If the battery thing freaks you out, wait until your warranty is almost up, then go buy Apple's support care package for $60 and it extends it to 3 or 4 years. That's what I plan on doing. And, 3 years from now, Apple will have a 6th generation iPod that I will just have to have!

iPod is definitely better... the interface is the best.

Believe me, you wont be disappointed with the iPod... I wasn't sure how I'd justify paying $424 (after taxes) for my 20 gig, but damn, it was worth it 🙂
