How is this NOT a good value?? Name ONE 2GB flash player that is cheaper and just as small, svelte, with comparable battery life. Even if you can find one, IT WON'T HAVE A COLOR SCREEN!

I would LOVE a black 2GB unit (I have a 20GB already for more capacity). The black unit would go well with a black RAZR.

Are you talking to me? I'm just commenting on the sheeple consumerism. Nothing is ever good enough, cool enough, impressive enough for the kiddies. You're so unique, just like everyone else. I'm not saying it doesn't look nice, it does, but last time I checked I didn't need a color screen to play music, my player gets the same battery life off of a single AAA (which I can change at any time for almost zero downtime), and it's smaller (although only 1gb is available).

Just curious...what player do you have?

Just wondering, does the black Ipod Nano come with white or black headphones? I haven't seen anyone mention this, if anyone has this model, let us know. Thanks!

I wonder if they will lose female sales, because I always see girls with the mini's and I never see guys with them.
It's probably because they only come in wack colors.

I'll wait until they get the 6gb and 8gb cards into them. I would expect they will be ready by the end of the year or early next year.

I'm still waiting for one in black that doesn't cost $11ty.

Edit: Wait, this IS available in black. Not bad. Not bad at all. Too bad I'm too poor. And 4gb would get me nowhere.

apple is once again, ahead of the pack by at least a year

but only in the world of mp3 players. I give apple its due, but I wish they would stop making computers. Just sell the d@mn OS!

I doubt OSX would be nearly as well if it had to run on as many different pieces of hardware (and combinations thereof) as Windows does.

Why not? They're porting it to x86 anyways, and it's up to the 3 party companies (nvidia) etc.. to release drivers for the chipsets/VGAs/etc.... so, If it can't run as well when it's opened up a bit, maybe it was never a very good piece of software to begin with?

Rather..it is already ported, and has been for a long time, just not released for the masses.

OSX is an excellent OS because of how it works not what it works with.

My mp3 collection has reached 100 gigs, 4 gigs is not gonna do it.

i hope that is uncompressed (because MP3 implies it is not) because I see no point in carrying 100GB of music with you

assuming 192 Kb/s VBR that is just under 50 days of music

i only have about 6-7 GB in MP3s and would want some more but i dont see how it can ever get to that much nor even want that much especially on a portable

can you honestly say you "like" every song in your collection

even at 8 GBs about half the songs I have I dont even like but just there because I ripped the entire CD
