iPod Nano

First iPod; was gifted; how do i import songs other than using iTunes? I tried a low level copy paste of an mp3 but it didn't show up in the music/song directory...

please let there be software other than iTunes to do this

iTunes is the easiest way to sync music and the only way to update the firmware.

iTunes is certainly the easiest (and most supported) way, but there are other alternatives:

Anapod Explorer
EphPod
Winamp
