Get an Apple-refurbished (like new, 1-yr warranty) 8GB iPod Nano for $99, or 16GB iPod Nano for $149. Many color options available. Shipping is free, though you may have to pay sales tax.
Get your nano!

After having a 1st gen touch I swore I would never had another Ipod due to my hatred for itunes, but I bit on an 8GB. I want to try out Nike + so I am giving it another go around.

I received my 8GB green nano yesterday. It ships in a brown box, with a a shrink-wrapped white box inside that says iPod on it in large, gray text. The back of the box has a UPC label that says "Apple Certified Refurbished" in small text. I'm giving this one as a birthday gift, and wouldn't hesitate to do so. It is packaged very nicely, and the actual iPod should look brand new. It comes with a new battery installed and new casing.

Yeah I've purchased a handful of Apple refurbs and all arrived in like-new condition. I'm assuming if there are any defects they just replace the case before reselling them.

This is tempting, but I already have a 2nd gen Nano that does everything I need it to. 😛

I got mine today. Pretty much the only difference from retail is no fancy packaging and more money in your pocket. If you give it as a gift and they are upset its a refurb, I would say they are ungrateful.

does it say it's refurb? I wanna get one as a bday gift.

If it's anything like MS's Zune, there will be a sticker on the back of the player stating it's a refurb unit.

I've never owned an official IPOD, Does iTunes convert all MP3 songs to another format (Transcode) to get them onto the ipods? Or can it natively play MP3 files as-is? I know you have to use iTunes to get them on, just curious.

Good deal, BM'd for later.

I believe it just plays them as is. However, you cant copy music off the ipod back onto your pc using itunes if thats what you were planning on doing. There are 3rd party programs which allow you to do this though.

No, I ask because a neighbor got one and asked me how to get songs on. We ripped them from a cd using WMP. Itunes found the MP3's but took a while to do something to them before it would let them transfer, so I assume it was transcoding, but since it was the first time I ever tried it out I wasn't sure if there was another way or if it was doing something else CPU intensive.
