This problem started a couple of months ago and I'm trying to figure out if the device is dying or if something else is going on. I'll try to turn on the device and will get a multi-language message telling me I need to restore my iPod. Sometimes a reset (middle+top button) will make it work and other times it just starts working on its own. Also, I've noticed it sometimes has trouble playing certain songs but then later has no problem playing those songs.
When I bought it I had a few friends who had issues with their units breaking after a year or two so I did the one thing I rarely ever do, I bought the 3 year replacement plan at Best Buy. I have no issues taking this thing back since it is still within the 3 year timing but if there is something I can do to fix it myself I would like to explore that route first.
Any ideas? HD crapping out?
