Is there any way to hook up an iPod to play through your car stereo without a cassette adapter?

I have seen FM transmittors advertised...do they work well? any recommended?

Any other suggestions?

Does your CD-Receiver have an input in? If it is not located on the outside then it is probably behind the headunit. Some minor installation is required then. Look for an Ipod car kit where it connects to the input in.

I have an FM transmitter and I don't any problems with it. It's the iCarPlay btw, and it plugs into the 12v adaptor so the iPod isn't running on battery power.

Alpine's new adapter looks promising. There are many way to do this but I like the idea of being able to control the ipod through the HU.

Because it sucks. I live in L.A. and it was next to impossible to get a clean signal. Even when I did find one it sounded like crap.

I agree.

the iTrip is GARBAGE unless you live in an area where there are like 2 radio stations.

see if your stereo has an aux port in the back...

or maybe if there is a cd changer port you can buy a converter that tricks it into being a input

i did this for my accord.
