iPod for Mac or iPod for Windows for Windows user?

So, I am about to purchase a 20GB iPod. I use a WinXP machine at work and at home. At work I support both Macs and PCs. Which iPod should I purchase, the iPod for Windows or Mac? What software does one use on the Windows side (iTunes? MusicMatch?)? If the HDD is using a PC format (FAT32?) can you connect it to both PCs and Macs? I know that WinXP will not recognize HTFS drives--so I want the maximum flexibility.

Any knowledge or opinions?

AFAIK, there is only one model of the iPod now and it works with both the Mac and Windows.

Well then... don't I feel sheepish!

So then... what format is the HDD? FAT32? HFS?
What program do you use on Windows to Synch with it? iTunes?

Thanks for the help guys!

I'm not sure what format it uses; you just use the utility that comes with it to "initialize" it. It does work fine in Windows XP though and can be recognized as an external hard drive. I assume it has to also work on the Mac. iTunes is the sync software, again, same as the Mac.

I have a 10GB, it uses FAT32. And there are more programs than just iTunes out there, some that even let you move songs from the iPod to a computer.

The iPods are the same, but if you format it on a Mac it's HFS+. If you format it on a PC it's FAT32.

Fortunately, if you format it FAT32 on the PC, it works on both the Mac and the PC.
