Ipod & Firewire digicams

The ipod comes with firewire. So does top cameras like the 1Ds and such. Does anybody make a firmware that'll allow the camera to download images directly to the ipod? that'll be cool.

There's a device that will let the iPod read off of flash media, and store the pictures that way, but there's no firewire-to-firewire device.

Correct. It needs to be connected to a 6pin port though, not one of the small, powerless 4pin ports.

Read up on the reviews of the Belkin iPod Media Reader first, by many accounts it's not that good. The main complaint is that the transfer between the iPod and the reader is very, very slow (thus quickly draining the iPod's battery).

I got the belkin, and not only slow, it's very fragile. it broke within one week of buying it.

Now, can't anyone write a firmware that'll allow direct download from camera -> ipod?
