My GF's ihome seems to have bit the dust, and i think i may get her a new dock for christmas, but i know i can do better than an Ihome. any suggestions?
 
Are you just looking for a dock, or speakers as well? You can get a dock at monoprice.com for $11.

I have a few Logitech MM50 speakers all around my apartment. Pretty good sound considering the size. Also has built-in rechargable batteries so you can take on trips or the beach. Dont know if its still being made but I paid 99 bucks each. DOES not work with 3rd gen or below. And there is a quirk with my 160gb "classic". If watching video with these speakers and if you shut the system down, it will start playing 15 mins later. Only happens with video. I think the latest firmware from apple fixed it as I havent seen it happen in a while.
