But the rewind/ fast forward buttons KEEP rewinding/fastforwarding until you stop them...how does it know when to stop skipping songs?

My iTrip mini was DOA, then called for an RMA. My roommate recently bought an iTrip mini (6 months after I bought mine) and his started cutting out after a few hours of use on the road. Griffin's got some quality control issues.

Cool innovation, though how many new cars still come with cassette slots ?

CD is still an option on many vehicles, mainly trucks.

My dads new van and truck both cost a few hundred dollars extra to get the CD.

Pretty neat, but even though my car has a cassette deck, I prefer using an FM transmitter for my iPod. I carry it in a Belkin TuneDok, and it's nearly as easy getting to the iPod controls as my stereo's. Also, I only have a first-gen iPod, so this wouldn't work anyway - sigh . . .

Cool, but still compromised audio quality using cassette adapter.

I prefer direct auxiliary input adapter. Sounds awesome in my honda.

I thought cassette adapters were better quality than FM transmitters?

They are but they are far inferior to direct input.

Most new stereo decks have an auxiliary input, ie where the cd player hooks into, or in the back of the cd player for an additional auxiliary input.

With that input, you need an auxiliary jack to connect your ipod into so that it goes directly from the ear jack of the ipod into your car stereo.

I use this adapter for my honda. With it (and an inexpensive y adapter to connect ipod headphone output into an rca input that this auxiliary adapter needs), its awesome sound.

Here is the menu to select the car that you have, and then it will list what adapters will work with it.

Usually these auxiliary adapters are used to connect satellite radio into the back of the car stereo.
