ipod charger question

I have a wall charger that came with my rio carbon. It's just a little black "wall wart" plug that has a port for a usb cable. Now, I know that the Carbon and the iPod Nano have different connectors that go into the players themselves, but they're both still just ubs cables. Could I use the Rio charger with the iPod cable to charge a Nano?

It should be absolutely fine. The majority of those chargers just connect a reasonably stable +5 or so volt power supply to the USB bus power rail. You could take a multimeter to it, just to be safe; but it will work.
