I use a Speck skin + armband. The skin protects it from scratching, plus it slides into the armband quite nicely. It works pretty well for running, seems to absorb the shock pretty well.

thats the one i was looking into. Do you remember how much you bought it for
Also the armband works pretty well for you?? doesn't get stretched too much??

I don't know how much it cost, I got it with an iPod as a Christmas gift. As for how it works, pretty well. It doesn't slip and so far hasn't stretched out any. If you're a bodybuilder, you might have trouble with the length of the armband since it isn't very long, but if you're an average person, it should fit fine. I'd recommend it.

I cover it with carefully laminating sheets. Neither looks nor size are compromised (I have a gen 2 ipod so size matters). I don't drop it.

How the battery life on a 2G now a days? Have you had to replace it?

No case. If I'm going to carry around something ugly, it might as well be a small, scratched-up, ugly iPod rather than a big, bulky, ugly-looking case.

Yep, that's how I look at it too

<-- dropped his mini 2x so far :frown:

i used to use an iSkin Evo2. i stopped using it because i prefer the slim factor of the ipod itself and the case made it thicker (though gave me peace of mind from small drops and scratches). i might buy a designer case in the future to hold the ipod when not in use, but designer cases arent that functional for when using ipods so i'll have to remove the ipod from the case when i use it.

Funny, I've just got around to looking for one for my 3g that I've had for well over a year  I think I'm going to go with the xskn. I'd like a hard case really but I really like how this covers the buttons and scoll wheel while still leaving them acessible.
