iPod battery pack

Anyone try that? I found 6 rechargeable batteries in my backpack and I want to make the altoid box be my battery pack....

I dont know the voltage specs on USB and Firewire though, so dunno how this will work....

firewire = 12v, but can be variable.

usb (teh suck) = 5v, cannot be varible.

where are you going to find the connector (3rd gen+), or are you going for something older? The pin-outs might be important too.. heh.
