So, I'm definitely an iPod noob, but I quickly learned that Apple doesn't want us moving music any way we want to.

You can d/l all the music you want illegally & upload to your iPod, but don't you DARE take any music off the iPod and put it back into your iTunes!!! :confused:

And it appears that Ephpod is the common program folks use to be able to swap back & forth freely??

Or is there a better program??

Or is there a way (easy, not 15 hoops to jump thru) to get stuff from iPod into iTunes???

TIA

There are 2 basic ways

1: Use something like ephpod (I prefer YamiPOD on Windows)
2: Enable hidden folders and get the music from the music folder.

Thanks Stu!

But, I also forgot one thing...............this is an ipod Touch!! (Steve "Blow" Jobs took away 'enable disk use' on the thing).

Will ephpod or YamiPOD still pull music off?? (Man, I really don't know why they fight this so much.)

Ah, the touch... that I really do not know to be honest. No harm in trying it I suppose.

You realize it's probably not Steve that said, "no more disk use on new iPod devices with touch screens."

The whole idea is that iPods are not music distribution venues. Copying songs back off of it shouldn't ever be necessary, if you had the songs to put it on the iPod, then you can transfer them how you want sans-iPod. Enabling an easy way to do this with an iPod just encourages IP violations. If you lose your songs, there are programs that yes, will pull music off of the iPod for free.

I can think of two very important reasons one would want to;

1. HD Crash
2. New Computer
