You can get a 30gb Zen Xtra for $179.99 which has better sound quality (IMO), better battery life, just as easy interface to use (with scroll wheel), many useful sound/playlist/more features.

should I get this instead of the dell dj? I really want a hd mp3 player that plays wma... I like the inline remote on the dj.....grrr so many choices

I would highly reccomend against the zen. I had one and did not like it very much. Bad software, and most importantly, it was huge! For a budget conscious person I'd reccomend a Rio Karma.

Same thing happened to me at the Burbank store. They called me and gave me the same crap excuse about not having it in stock. They told me that last one they had was defective and sent it back. Since it was dicontinued they won't get anymore.

Yeah, it looks like the third generation model with the buttons above the wheel. I wouldn't complain though. OOS in NYC according to the website.

I got in early and it was in stock at one of the NYC stores I placed a order and will pick up tomorrow or Tuesday! I hope they have it form me!

I think CompUsa had a misprint and now its saying that the ones it has are defective. I checked online which CompUsa had the ipods and only burbank did. So I called my local CompUsa in montclaire and they said they had 3 in stock and all 3 were defective. So I'm calling a bluff on Comp Usa's part.

Check in Anand's reviews of the Dell DJ. I *think* that the Dell is a rebadged/redone Creative.

It isn't wholly a rebadged Creative. But is made and manufactured by Creative. If you are anti-iPod then I would recommend getting a Dell DJ. Because unlike Creative, they offer a 1 year warranty on the Dell DJ. The Zen only has a whopping 90-days warranty. The DJ is also smaller than the Zen by lots. Which makes me believe they have better parts in the DJ, thus Dell is comfortable giving a 1 year warranty.
