obviously you've never owned a razr and are showing your ignorance.

My razr lasts a good 2-3 days on a single stock battery, stock charge, normal usage

He's just joking...take it easy. Razr battery does suck compare to Nokia.

Meh, i'm interested in the iphone.... but all that interest dies simply b/c its only with cingular. Which is the worst phone company i've ever dealt with, which includes tmobile, metro pcs, verizon, and sprint.

Whoa, I think I figured out Steve's diabolical plan. If you write Apple with a 4 in place of the A, it would be: 4pple. Phonetically, that's For People. Now, if you replace the first p with $ as you suggest, it would be: 4$ple, i.e. For sheeple!!!!!!!!!

Don't post that in P&N, we have people confined there that would take it seriously.

I think it was a shot at how crappy the razrs were. Everyone I know who has a razr wants to get rid of it ASAP for various reasons. Dunno about the latest versions though.

See, that's interesting. I have 2 original first gens (I bought them when they first came out and Cingular had the exclusive), and both still work flawlessly....coming up on 2 years now. Granted, I've modded one of the phones somewhat (firmware upgrades and whatnot), but I have no real complaints.

It depends if you left the bluetooth on or not...with it off, I would get 3-5 days from my battery....If bluetooth was left on, it would last about a day...

As a person who knows something about testing phones for a carrier, I know that there are numerous hardware and firmware revisions between testing and commercial release (testing can take 6-8 months or longer if there are delays). There is no way Cingular would approve a device with abysmal battery life--especially if it doesn't have a removable battery. So while the story might not be bullsh*t, I bet he's talking about an early, early prototype.

this makes so little sense my brain is about to ap$plode$.

probably 40 minutes when using the phone to watch videos or something, my Motorola Q has HORRIBLE battery life if I'm watching a DIVX or playing SNES games. This is my .02 cents

if the iphone has 40 minutes of talk time (big if) by talk time they mean talking, which means the screen is probably blank as with all cell phones when you're talking. That means if you're using the phone where the screen is actually on, for like web surfing or watching video, you'll get much less then 40 minutes because big color screens drain batteries like nothing else. So what, you'd be looking at 15 minutes battery life? The Iphone may very well have poor battery life but I think this is a huge exaggeration. My Q when the screen is fully used I can probably get about an hour, if I'm just talking I get like 4.

I predict the Iphone will have about 2 hours battery life *shrug*

Well...iPhone aside...all I have to say is Blackjack...and I'm an owner.

1 day of battery life is unacceptable, and Cingular agreed..hence the free extended battery offer (and selling the extended battery standard with purchases now).
