Damn my buddy ordered at 3am from Apple and just got an email saying they were unable to process his application because they were unable to verify his information, and to place a new order lol. That would make me pretty furious.

Told him I'd sell him mine for $3k though 😛

I'm on the Upgrade Program, so had already made my X choices (silver 256GB) ahead of time, AND been pre-approved for the new lease/loan. Still had to get up at 0301 and wait 15min for the Apple Store App to finally connect through and let me click "Yes, I want the phone". 2-3wk lead time due to the thing not connecting. If I went to the Store from another device or the browser it told me to use my phone.

I was thinking of scalping a few also, but with the variable ship dates I didn't think it was worth the risk versus just trading bitcoin for the equivalent I'd get from reselling. Minus the headache. Looks like my reselling days are done, even on higher ticket items.

Dang... didn't he hear that Apple was processing the applications ahead of time to make sure there weren't any issues? 🙁

I wouldn't believe any listings you see on eBay, sold or not, as someone actually receiving that money. It's a known thing that there are people who go onto eBay to ruin sellers who are trying to scalp the hot high end items. That's part of the reason I stopped even trying to sell even bother with consoles on there. I had an extra PS4 because I won one from Taco Bell and had it preordered since it was available, and ended up putting it on eBay, and twice I had non paying bidders so I just returned it to Amazon.

I agree with this!

Had to call in to T-Mobile for mine because of business line. Got the 64gb silver model. I actually didn't know that they got rid of the white lip until I was actually placing my order for the phone. Had it space grey but switched to silver during the order.

Well my fucking wife broke my iPhone 6 screen last night so now I'm ready to get my X. It shipped already but per shipper instructions, they aren't delivering it until Friday.

Got the same notification today too. It would be good if I could customize the delivery, but they don't allow that if the shipment is overnight.

My wife's 8 arrived around 11am but my mother in law wasn't there to sign for it, so I just picked it up from Fedex at 6pm later that night. I'll just do the same if I miss delivery somehow.

I also ordered a new screen for my 6 that I'm going to install tonight. I'm not 100% that I'm keeping my X, especially if I see people buying them for $2k+. It would be hard to not make hundreds of dollars of people are willing to pay for it, especially if I have a phone that works just fine. Then I could buy it in a month or two if I wanted it. But that is just something I'm going to play by ear as the date approaches.

I had to do that with my Vive, but BlizzCon is on Friday as it is and I was likely going to watch that as it is. FedEx can kind of be a bit variable when they arrive. When they dropped off my Coffee Lake CPU, it was at about 9 AM, but my Blu-ray player was around 5 PM.

The one thing that I'm dreading is setting up the phone. In years past, I would just hook it up to iTunes, and it would handle everything. Now, iTunes no longer does apps, which means I get to download many, many gigs of apps to the phone.

I plan on just backing up my current phone then restoring the X from backup.

So glad I didn't order one of these. Apparently Apple is still using crappy 28nm intel modems in the AT&T and T-Mobile versions of the iPhone X. I have an intel iPhone 7 and it is utter crap in terms of reception and call quality. I highly regret buying it and apparently Apple is no longer selling "unlocked" version with the good modem.

I will switch to verizon if I have to... anything to avoid living with another garbage phone that can't make calls.

Installing a replacement screen is not for the faint of heart. There are so many little parts and getting the home button and stuff off was pretty tough, but I'm glad it all worked out and I finished it.

I read that Apple was planning on using Intel exclusively in the future.

Lmao never thought I'd see shit talking about Anandtech on Reddit.

Yeah, the whole "Anandtech is dead" thread was a bit awkward given where we are. 😛 Anandtech's mobile reviews have always taken longer, and given the breadth of releases, they can't possibly review everything. Also, keep in mind that they'd likely push reviewers to focus on more popular items as they'll pull in more views... especially if reviews take a long time to execute and write.
