iPhone vs Android

No this isn't a thread about how much better one is than the other...

I think it's just great that we've FINALLY reached the point where iPhone has a legitimate competitor. For so long iPhone was clearly superior to every other smartphone on the planet... only in the last year has Android caught up.

How many features of the iPhone4 are the direct result of Android phones? How will the next release of Android be impacted by the features of iPhone?

One thing is for sure though... we the consumers win win win.

To a certain degree, I agree with you.
But I have to ask: when will android actually have features that just work (for everybody and without issues). Android is 2+ years old and is still playing catchup with iPhone and even WinMo functionality (with many integrated "features" not even working properly)

The bolded is a condition that does not exist, even with the iPhone.

What integrated features don't work properly? Android comes stock with the most features of any phone.

Hahaha. You really made me laugh there.
Where to start ...

1. Voice actions: don't work with saved contacts (Google's forums are full of complaints).
2. Exchange support: still abysmal.
3. Calendar sync: works 80% of the time ... the other 20% appointments just don't sync. Sorry - a calendar that doesn't work all the time and is reliable is useless.
4. Email vs. Gmail ... WTF?
5. Copy and paste ... had to mention it.
6. Attachments in emails ... yes, I would like to send whatever attachment I want
7. Downloading files from the internet ... yes, I would like to download whatever file I want
8. Stock android and features? It doesn't even have an "office" app suite standard, despite Google having their own online gdocs offering.
etc.

iOS doesn't have all of these and neither does WinMo. I could go one by one but it would take too much time as almost all of yours are opinion and not fact.

The whole point is why put a feature in if its not 100% ready. Google likes to make things beta and put it out there as such.

I am really sorry to break it to you but ALL of these work pretty well on the other platforms (iOS and even old WinMo) while the above are either not working at all or are clearly (non-functional) "beta" products on android.
Are you now going to cry? That's what fanboys sadly often do when they are confronted with uncomfortable FACTS about their favorite fanboy-products.
