iPhone SE 4

I've only had Andriod phones but my daughter is set on an iPhone. She currently is planning on the iPhone 15 but I see the SE 4 is due out in March or so. From what I've read it should be the equivalent of an iPhone 14 for about $550. I doubt my daughter needs much power from the phone, it's going to be mostly about the aesthetics. Anything to keep in mind when comparing the two? If the 15 is down to $650 for BF or X-mas, I was planning on just getting it.

Historically the SE has a much smaller screen. For some people, this is actually a feature, not a bug (i.e. one-handed operation). I believe the rumor is the SE is due for a redesign, so it will have a little larger screen in the next iteration.

The current screen is 4.7", which is tiny by today's standards. Make sure you get enough storage for her needs over 5 years.

If they're bumping the entry price to $550, that sucks (currently $429 for the gimped 64GB model).

what, you don't want Apple Intelligence? 😛

Idk, A18 with 8GB RAM are nice improvements on paper. But $600 is pretty crappy indeed.

It would be a MUCH more interesting phone at $499. $599 makes it clear this product exists to up sell the normal 16 (as is standard Apple practice).

My iPhone 12 mini is starting to have issues (I treat it poorly at work) and I was looking for a new generation SE. The 16E ain't it.
