Adds some pretty wallpapers and is nice and stable, feels like a final release so far.

I knew I should have brought my Macbook to work today! Guess I'll have to wait till I get home to download it.

Don't forget the addition of the tethering option...

I wish they would allow custom ringtones for text message alerts and the ability to reorder your mail/calendars.

don't have tethering on mine - don't know why but there are many others who didn't get it with beta 4 either.

You have to reset your network settings for it to show up.

On a side note, I've been all over the AT&T site and I can't find any option to enable tethering on my account.
So the feature is there, but I don't see any way to actually use it at this point. (Not surprising being a beta OS)

Can someone tell me - is there any way to activate multi tasking other than a double tap? I'm thinking this will wear out the home button. Trying to figure out if I should upgrade or just keep 3.1.3 with cydia. I really like backgrounder and circutious/sbsettings combo that allows me to never have to hit the home button if I so desire. . .

I don't believe there is.

I also don't believe it will wear out the home button. We have employees at the office that still have the original iphone in active use, that button has been hit probably hundreds of thousands of times. It still works fine. If its not broke, dont fix it, so I dont think apple would change its home button design, i'm thinking the extra tap won't matter to the home button in the lifetime of the phone.

Also, think about your mice.. holy cow.. I'd love a counter to see how many times I've clicked those buttons. :D

No ads here, they will be in-app, and apps haven't been released from the new SDK yet.

The O/S itself seems fairly stable. I'm sure they've cleaned it up quite a bit in the past few weeks, so it should be ready to go. It'll still take a while for many apps to catch up with the new features though.

It looks like they have taken 75% of what I jailbroke my phone for and rolled it into 4.0.

I'm gonna wait until a working jailbreak is out before I go to 4.0. Can't see myself without:

- SBSettings
- Pro Switcher
- Activator
- Backgrounder

Those things make the iPhone pretty epic. Then there's:

- 3G Unrestrictor
- YourTube
- iFile
- VNC
- Flashlight (and not the POS from the App Store!)
- direct access to the file system

Until those above work under JB OS 4.0, I ain't "upgrading" :p

you can do folders with jailbreak already.

i'm not so sure i see the real benefit of multitasking.

i don't use skype
i don't use it for music/ipod

even if you JB 4.0 - are you sure all apps that are old will work fine with 4.0?

i think i'll wait until there are monumental apps that require 4.0 only. so far i've yet to see any.

the front facing camera on iphone 4 seem lame if its wifi only
