Battery life is about on par.
Droid X has bigger screen.
iPhone 4 has better (Clearer, higher resolution) screen.

So its all about what you prefer. A svelte package or a big screen?

Have you previously owned an iPhone or Android phone? I'm asking because if so, consider how much you've put into buying apps (again, if you have).

Out of the two, I would personally choose the iPhone, mostly because it will be worth more when it's time to resell. 😉

Neither, both of those phones have either been replaced(Droid X) or will be replaced very soon(iPhone).

The X was replaced with the X2, same body styling, Tegra 2 based. Buggy MotoBlur and buggy Froyo build, should wait for an OTA update before being the X2.

iPhone 4, already 2 years old. iP5/4GS/whatever is not too far off though Apple is playing it very close to the chest after they lost the iP4 prototype.

Very heavy iPhanatic thread. Very obvious. Point remains though, the X at stock is saddled with Blur, which gives it the lag, poor RAM use, bad camera, etc.

Going to assume that the OP is on Verizon and doesn't need LTE? I'd look at the Incredible 2. Now that it has permaroot and S-Off, stable versions of CM7 and MUIU are up, word is that the Inc2 is the most polished Phone on Big Red right now because of this.

You know if the Droid X were fully unlocked it would be blazing fast. The other 1ghz phones do damn well. It's a pity these devices are held back so much by software though.

Do you already use itunes or google services, and are you going to want to integrate your phone into other areas of your life? or do you just want a nifty phone and that doesnt matter so much?

For me, I use google for anything I can, so getting a droid was a no-brainer. Contacts, calendar, gmail, task list, gtalk and such, and i knew i could get apps to do most of what i wanted with my pc/network on it.

My friends have lots of apple devices (apple tv, ipod touch, ipads, macbook), and only got a droid because they wanted a smartphone and our carrier doesnt have iphones. theyd kill for an iphone.

does LTE cost extra? if not, i'd rather get an LTE phone for sure. or maybe wait for the bionic. or get the droid x2?

i have a droid x and like it, but it is true that the software leaves something to be desired. even running liberty gingerbread 0.8, shit is sometimes slow for no reason. the form factor and build quality are both great.

I have AT&T now.

iPhones are nice, but I'll never pick anything under 4.5 inches again. I have big fingers. I can do more with my Android, but that's just me. I also don't mind fiddling with ROMs and tweaking here and there.

If that doesn't interest the person, iPhone all the way.

Wait for the new iPhone and then decide (so I chose other).

If you absolutely have to get a phone now, I'd lean towards the iPhone 4.

Wait a couple of months for the new iPhone and then play around with all of the options. It's a personal choice. Both are good.
