iphone/ipod/itunes help needed

For the past couple of months I've had a new 8gb 3rd gen ipod touch (jailbroken w/ 3.1.2 if it matters) and put all my music, apps, etc on it via itunes. I just bought a used 2g iphone (jailbroken and unlocked) off of craigslist and am trying to sync it with all the stuff that I already have in itunes but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I plan on giving my wife the ipod touch and wiping it back to zero but first want to get all the stuff off that to the phone (especially angry bird). I've tried the "sync" button on the bottom right but nothing goes on it.

Any ideas/tips for what I'm doing wrong?
 
Yes, I have a tmobile pay as you go sim in it. The guy I bought it from also left an AT&T one w/ it so I have that too.
 
Try putting the original SIM in there and then restore it. I ran into a similar problem with my used first gen. I am sure there is a way to do it without the original SIM, but it is easiest with it.

So, go ahead and restore it and then you should be able to sync your stuff to it.
