As expected, both parties need to be actively using this app for it to work. Grandma calling you with the basic Phone app will not be encrypted.

Not sure how this is different from any other chat/call app really, other than that they're selling it as "secure." Since it's entirely closed, who knows if it's doing it right or doing it at all.

As long as encrypted calls/text are not supported at the OS level, can we expect encrypted communication unless both parties use such tools? I don't see how.

Also, source code is available for all their applications. I guess you have to go through some extra hoops if you actually want to install from the published source, but its possible.
