Yeah right. Flash these days aren't just fancy gifs, they're pretty damn CPU intensive. I've got a 1ghz machine with 512mb and xubuntu on it, and i frequently hit 100% CPU on websites. It's ridiculous.

I hope they can pull it off with the current generation of iPhones, but i'm not holding my breath. They would have implemented it a LONG time ago if the iPhone could handle it.

Yes!! Been waiting for this update for my touch 32gb.

I just put some new apps on there - favorite is WeatherEye. It's so much more detailed than the built-in and other random weather apps that just tell you the current temp.

Which weather app are you guys using on the touch/iPhone?

Yea.. that's true.. but really all they need to get implemented is the FLVPlayback component of the Flash player. That's what most websites are using to playback their videos, and that's what's annoying to me. If websites use YouTube then I can check their stuff out, but most sites have switched over to Vimeo, or some other service and I hate wanting to watch a video and having to bookmark it so I can check it out on my computer.

I really don't care to see full Flash sites on the phone.

I assume that the people who design websites are aware of the prevalence of iPhones and other web-capable phones. When they do not program for such hardware, I can also only assume they do not want those eyes looking at their site, so I move on to another site that is more mobile-friendly.

Ironically, it really annoys me that ESPN automatically redirects my iPhone to it's mobile-only/mobile-optimized site. Maybe there is an option somewhere to stop that behavior, but I have not been able to find it.

Yea.. I know what you mean. I do think there should be an option on all sites.. I hate when certain sites MAKE you use their mobile version. I definitely want to be in control of what I view on the phone. Some people might want the Flash sites on the phone, and so I understand their frustration. For me, though, Flash is merely a portal for viewing video on the device, so that's why I'd like to see it work.
