from what i can tell after playing around with it, safari seems less prone to crash. . . . it used to crash all the time loading graphic intensive websites like engadget or autoblog and so far that hasn't been the case. Streetview is pretty smooth, although you seemed to be stuck rotating 360 degrees along the pin that was placed on the map and unable to move along the street .. . . I may be wrong here but I haven't been able to figure out how to move along the street yet.

Don't upgrade as yet if you've a jailbroken one. Because jailbroken isn't available for it yet. also, the dev team is also saying not to update until they figure out the iPhone 3G soft unlock which apparently in progress.

As handy as auto correction can be, it drived me NUTS sometimes when I forget to click the X to clear it. They need to make the option to reverse it, keep auto correction on but ONLY when you click the corrected word.

This is a pretty pathetic update on the surface. We'll see how improved Safari's stability actually is...time to open a couple of long AT threads and see how long it lasts.

Yea.. I'm glad for 2.2, but I really think that Apple is just catching up to where it should've been in the first place. Podcast downloads, toggle switch for auto correction... I want the Push notifications to actually work. This was promised back in July. C'mon Apple! If you aren't going to implement this feature, at least allow background tasks.

Oh and Flash! Just got back from Adobe Max in San Francisco, and Adobe really is trying to work with phone manufacturer's to get Flash on every mobile platform. I would love to see Apple actively working with Adobe to get this working. It might be too slow, but I sure would like to have the option to use it.

dunno if its on the touch as well but if it is, when you put down a pin, an orange icon appears next to the pin and tapping down on the icon activates street view.

I wasn't going to do the update, but if it fixes Safari, it will be worth it.

I'm glad it improves visual voicemail sound quality. Voicemail messages have been sounding like crap for quite some time now.

Ok.. when you click "Get More Episodes" from the the iPod Podcast section, it takes you to the iTunes store, but it doesn't take you to the specific podcast. Talk about oversight...

I'm glad to see that they put back the "update all" function in the app store. Not sure why they took that out previously.

you know, my ipod touch came with 2.1.1 so i never even knew the update all function was there in 2.0, but was removed in 2.1...

btw, this update is great! everything seems much smoother and the minor tweaks are great! i dont know why ipod touch users got screwed out of google street views though...:(

A friend of mine helped me figure out how to move around in street view. When you drop a pin and cruise into street view, you'll notice the arrows on the street you've been placed on. Touch the arrows and you can move up and down the street!

Sorry if someone has already pointed this out but I was pretty tickled by that. I handed my buddy my phone and he figured it right out!
