iPhone and Gmail

how do you archive an email? rather than trashing it?

First make sure your using IMAP with gmail on your iPhone, then go into Settings/Mail, select your gmail account, scroll down to advanced, and change the deleted messages to All Mail. The when you delete, it archives the message.
