iPhone alarm clock

I was wondering if there was an option on the iphone so that when you set the alarm clock it will only vibrate and not sound the alarm.

Sometimes I take a nap at work (on my break) and I would like it to vibrate only when its time to go back.

When you set the alarm, move the switch on the side of the iPhone to silent?

I don't think that works.

I guess you are right.

In my five minutes of testing since my last post (most spent waiting for the next minute to pass to set off the alarm), I found the best option is to set the alarm and turn the volume down as far as possible. If that is not quiet enough, you can put a piece of tape over the speaker, too.

Yeah thats pretty dumb. I can't see why apple would allow someone to set it to vibrate only for setting the alarm clock. I don't want to cause a raukus!

I'd just be happy with a seperate volume control for my alarm. I want my phone ringer really load for public, but at 5am I don't want a blaring sound waking me up.

Without a blaring sound, I do not wake up.
