OK, I'll have to see if there's an Android version. GB4 says 17gb for my Note7.

Edit: Numbers are about the same. 873Mb/s worst, 19.51Gb/s average, 20.52Gb/s best. Can't touch those CPU speeds, though!
I guess that makes sense. Apple uses Samsung LPDDR4 RAM, just like in the Note 7, according to iFixit. I don't know (or understand) the details of the memory controllers though.

I'm getting the matte black as well. That gloss black is for idiots. It's gonna look like shot 90% of the time.

guess I am one of those idiots... i'm also one of those idiots that use a clear TPU case on all my phones (along with the tempered glass) and my current iphone 6 looks brand new

Note though that the jet black is much more scratch prone than the iPhone 6.

But the jet black does look great, at least in pictures.

i hear ya, but it's not hard to protect with a TPU case. just make sure you are in a clean environment when you put the case on, and don't take it off and on over and over

jet black phones will also be more desirable when selling too ... just like larger spaced (GB) ones are too

Bought a used 6 that was in an otter box that was ruined, I still have no idea what the original owned did, but it was all scratched to hell, fortunately for me, I was able to exchange it when it had some software issues, and got a nice refurbished unit for free. I'll never trust an Otterbox after seeing that phone.

I find one big issue with this... you're assuming that the phone was always in that case, but from what I read here, that isn't an assertion that we can make. For all you know, the user put the case on the phone after it started getting mangled, or he did that as a way to hide the phone's condition. I always use thin form factor cases, which only add minor bulk, but they keep it pretty well protected.

This is the case that I bought for my 7+.

I wish I had a picture of it, you could actually see the outline of the case on the phone, I've never seen anything like it before.

LOL, I do have a picture, looked in swappa archives and sure enough...

How do you like that case? My wife is thinking about ordering it for herself.

Took my work issued 6 Plus in to our phone guy today to get it swapped for a 6s (vibrate switch stopped working). He gave me a T-Mobile running 6s (which by itself is awesome, I hate Sprint!!!) then said he would go ahead and order a 7 Plus for me...

Our phone guy is a cool dude. 🙂

Weird fringing at the edges of the subject looks pretty bad in some cases using that portrait mode.

I finally got a chance to try it out, and it's okay. My biggest issue is probably just the lack of something good to grip onto. It has a slightly textured back, but it's not much to help stop the phone from sliding. My previous case was a bit smooth, but it had defined raised portions on the back that could be used to hold the phone well. I wanted to find one more like my previous case, but I couldn't find a similar one from Spigen. (They made the previous one too.)

That's what I thought too. In fact the entire subject looks "processed". Softened at the least and contrast and colors are also exaggerated.

The touch to focus function works pretty well through assuming your subject is close enough. The real test is to see how it handles the situation when both the subject and the background are at similar distances.

From my camera. Fringing in this shot isn't as bad. I think it may be worse under certain conditions like when a border isn't as obvious. For example, in this shot, on the sides of the CD case where there is a clear outline of the plastic case, the fringing isn't noticeable. But at the top left where the glare of the overhead lamp blows out that detail, the software gets confused and blends the white with the background for a little bit causing the fringe.

Note that this is just in my home office at night under room lighting after trying portrait mode for the first time for like 1 minute, so definitely not ideal conditions.

It started blurring around the 5th CD down it seems. I think that shot could also be done with the autofocus given the relative distance from the phone to top CD and the phone to the floor. A good test would be a person standing by a tree and seeing if it blurs the tree.

It touches on some of your questions.

Gradual-like blurring on this artwork:

Tree not beside subject, but not too far back. It gets blurred out, but just mildly, whereas neighbour's home across the street is totally blurry:

Anyone else having this kind of experience with the 7?

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/sep/23/iphone-7-review-poor-battery-life

Battery anxiety
Battery life, however, is poor. Using it as my primary device with three hours of app usage and browsing, hundreds of emails and push notifications, a couple of photos, five hours of music over Bluetooth headphones and the odd game of Jetpack Joyride during my one hour and 20 minute train commute to and from work, it lasted an average of just over 14 hours between charges, meaning it didn’t survive past 9.30pm.

Rather than having better battery life in my testing, the iPhone 7 has worse battery life than the iPhone 6S when new. No single app caused significant battery drain, I do not have the Facebook app installed and Low Power Mode made no appreciable difference in my testing when enabled at 20%.

If I had needed it to navigate me home or snap some pictures at night I would have to make sure I did a good charge before leaving the office. If I used it for maps for any walking or driving, battery life was much shorter.

To get through 24 hours, you’ll be forced to have a power adapter close by, shove it in a battery pack or charge at your desk, which means you won’t be able listen to music at the same time via cabled headphones – more on that later.

To make matters worse, the iPhone 7 has the worst of all worlds: short battery life and tediously slow charging. Even using the 12W charger that came with the iPad Pro it took well over two hours to fully charge the iPhone 7.

I find the battery performance to be on par with the 6 I traded in. Reading stuff like that makes me glad I'm not addicted to my phone. By the time I put my phone on the charger at night, I usually have anywhere from 65%-85% battery remaining unless I'm out camping and signal is weak. But on an average day, I have more than enough battery.

So Apple finally got this feature? I've had 4 prior phones that had this, under different names, and now people think this is some new tech. SMDH.

Some of it is just use case though. I'm not addicted to my phone but regularly have items pushed since I get a ton of work emails every day. I also have a couple of bluetooth devices in constant use throughout the day which of course is going to be a constant battery drain. But if the idea is to push bluetooth connectivity anyway then I think folks who constantly use bluetooth on the iPhone 6 should reasonably expect to see improved battery life in the 7. If it's not improved then that will be disappointing to me.

Which 4 phones have this feature?

I'm not some rabid "OMG Apple did it first" person, but I'm unaware of anyone doing this, so which 4 Android phones do this?

I believe with most phones, the blurring is strictly a software filter effect that is applied to the original image. Apple is using the image from one lens and the depth data from a second lens. It is still a software solution from Apple, but they are using data from a physical lens to create the blur effect rather than just a software algorithm applied to the data collected by a single lens.

At least that is my take on it.
