Does anyone know if there is a plan to refresh the 5s at all? I get that the majority likely want the size of the 6 at minimum but my gf is a fan of the 5s form factor and is not interested in either going to android or a larger screen size.
Worst Photoshop ever.

However, my guess is that they will release a 4" iPhone, based off the A7 or A8, but with Apple Pay. Same screen resolution as the iPhone 5.

I guess I'm devil's advocate on the 3.5mm jack. I hate them. They constantly wear out in the car so my car speakers cut in and out when I'm trying to play through the aux jack.

The iPhone 6c 4" iPhone rumours are gaining traction. Because in some situations I prefer a 4" phone to a 4.7" phone, that has me wondering if I'll get the iPhone 7 or not, and just get a 6c instead, especially if came with an A9 SoC. However, it depends on the other specs like the camera and memory. Specifically, if the 6c has 1 GB RAM, I'm totally not interested. It's got to be 2 GB or bust.

I'm so not interested in phone anymore haha. Looking at that image does nothing for me. I'm still on my 5S and will likely use it until it breaks. Hopefully it gets me to the new 7 launch.

Looks like any other phone these days. 😉 Except...

Big difference is that the antenna bands are at the edges now. Looks better than the iPhone 5/5S and 6/6s design in that regard. I do prefer the hard edges of the 5/5S though.

No headphone jack.

aaaand I've lost my interest. Re-designed antenna lines? Is this what we've come to?

This phone better at have a killer camera, super thin bezels and a smaller footprint for a more comfortable grip, or it will be a huge flop (comparative to other iPhone launches of course, it will still outsell other phone by orders of magnitude). There is nothing enticing a 6/6S user to upgrade.

It's looking more and more likely that I will side grade to a 6S so I can keep using my headphone jack and get voLTE support (since stupid robbers doesn't want to enable it for the 6) and I will wait for the 7S or 8 or whichever brings OLED to the table. Any other features are pretty much irrelevant...

Why do you care about VoLTE? Is the call quality or connection stability on VoLTE that much better? I'm wondering because I'm on Fido (and thus use the Rogers towers).

6 to 6S isn't really a sidegrade. 6S has twice the ram, a better camera, force touch, and a faster CPU/GPU.

Huge difference in call connection time and call quality (to landlines and cell phones on a different network where you can't connect with UWB). And also handoff from wifi calling. Yes I know there is FaceTime audio and Hangouts, but this isn't always an option, especially if you use your phone for work.

Yes I know, but I still consider it a side grade. It's basically unrecognizable from the 6, and I don't feel a need for any of those things except maybe 4K video recording. I'd basically be getting it mostly for volte. If Rogers enabled it on the 6, I wouldn't even bother.

So you don't like it because it doesn't look different enough?

No, so far I don't like it because from what we know it doesn't bring significant changes to the table. You know, like iPhone 4S to 5 brought a larger screen, lightning, and LTE, which was like night and day. And iPhone 5S to 6 brought significantly larger screens, which was again like night and day.

This looks like an iPhone 6SS. I really hope time will prove me wrong since there are a lot of potentials features that are still up in the air like complete water proofing, wireless charging, significant camera or battery life improvements. All I'm saying is that so far it does not excite me in the slightest.

In addition to that, if the dropping the headphone jack rumour comes true, I would consider this phone 1 step forward 2 step backwards. I know I will have to eventually put up with that but damn, the rest of the features better be mind blowing before I make that kind of sacrifice.

OLED sucks. Don't hold your breath.

Umm I really hope you're joking. Properly calibrated OLED displays are a sight to behold.

Yup, that camera bulge is pretty ugly looking. They will keep making it thinner no matter what. Eventually we will see a CPU bulge and it'll look like a ram-air hood in the middle of the phone lol.

No proof any of these leaked images are legit. I'd chill on that front.

I think there are some things that are definitely happening. Thinner for one, perhaps 1 mm less. Every two year redesign has resulted in a thinner iPhone. No headphone jack. Improved camera. 32 GB will be the base model.

I don't think the home button is going anywhere. I do think they'll ditch it with iPhone 8 in 2 years. Touch ID will be integrated into the screen. I also don't think you'll see any improved resistance to water this year.

I'd love to see the bezels shrink but I think we'll see the same footprint just thinner. Perhaps iPhone 8, with no home button, will allow for less bezels. Instead of getting shorter the iPhone will get thinner this go round.

I really want a thinner and lighter 7 Plus so I'm excited for the redesign.

On a related note the updated 4" iPhone will be announced in two days. Great to see Apple still continuing the 4" iPhone.

So you want bigger than a 5.5" screen? What exactly do you think you can tell about a phone's technology by looking at half a shell?

Yeah right. Use some Google to look at color gamut and accuracy on the iPhone 6s versus Samsung anything.

If it is dual-camera, I wonder if it's going to be 3D (or VR). It'd be a great "one more thing" trick if they had a glasses-free screen in the same vein as the Nintendo 3DS. Alternatively, back in 2013, Toshiba was working on a Lytro-style dual-camera system that recorded both image data & depth information to allow you to refocus after the shot was taken:

http://petapixel.com/2013/09/28/toshiba-unveils-dual-camera-module-lytro-like-refocusing-deep-focus/

That would be a pretty huge feature in a smartphone, even with the lightning-fast autofocus the newer phones have now. High-quality photos, high-quality video, motion photos that you tap on, and now refocusable photographs. That feature would really make Apple stand out from the crowd because people take out-of-focus pictures all the time, like at birthday parties or kid's sports events.
